I came across this stained glass tutorial at Graphics Tutorials. I did do a few things different and I created an alternate image. When I got to the instructions on selecting all of the colored parts, instead of deleting them, I put them on a new layer and hid them. After the description on moving the original frame layer down, I didn't have to turn off visibility because in CS2 you can select two layers and "Cmd/Ctrl E" to merge them. Following that, instead of clicking in one of the shapes, I selected them all, including the ones that were to be traced wih the pen tool. and continued with the tutorial. When I got to this has to be repeated I didn't have to because I had done them all at once. Instead, I did a very tight crop to eliminate the border style from the left and top left when I cropped.Variance
I then saved the file as a variance, activated the colored parts layer, moved it to the top of the stack, set the layer as overlay, opacity to 75% and viola! Color on color. In the original attempt I frosted the original but can't for the life of me remember what I did/ If I ever figure it out, I'll post it. Perhaps I should record my actions to avoid this problem in the future.
